| Long ago, worshippers of Talona attacked and blighted the grove of Syrune, a young wild elven druid. She fought back and drove them away, but the damage had already been done: the creatures in the area went mad, rejecting the forest gods and dying frenzied and in pain, despite all her efforts to save them. Syrune herself became infected with the Talontar plague, and was cast out from her tribe - she went to Silvanus for aid, but he could not heal her - and even her once-despised enemy Talona would not accept her as a worshipper and remove her agony. In her rage, the young elf declared her independence from the gods, and set up her grove as a place forbidden to all, blighted or not... In the interest of keeping it that way, she fashioned a weapon that reflected her own pestilent and broken soul, and wielded it with a murderous fury, slaying anything that came near. Eventually a nearby human settlement and reclusive wild elves banded together to defeat her, and though Syrune's life was snuffed out, her pain and rage remains in this simple sickle, ready once again to destroy at a master's whim. |
