Description While using defensive fighting mode, you trade your attack bonus for a small AC bonus. Casting a spell ends this mode.

Fascinate
Description Activate this bard ability to make your foes stop what they're doing and listen to your soothing notes.
Required Classes Bard (1).

Inspire Competence
Description A bard can use music to help an ally succeed at a task. The ally gains +2 on skill checks with a particular skill as long as he or she is within 30 feet and can see and hear the bard. The effect lasts as long as the bard concentrates, up to a maximum of 2 minutes. A bard can’t inspire competence in himself.
Required Classes Bard (3).

Inspire Courage
Description A bard can use song or poetics to inspire courage in his allies (including himself), bolstering them against fear and improving their combat abilities. The effect lasts for as long as the ally can hear the bard sing and for 5 rounds thereafter. An affected ally receives +1 vs. charm and fear effects, and +1 on attack and weapon damage. At 8th level this bonus increases by 1.
Required Classes Bard (1, 8).

  Inspire Greatness
Description A bard can use his music or poetics to help an ally excel in combat. The ally must be within 30 feet and be able to see and hear the bard. The ally gets +2 attack bonus, a +1 fortitude save bonus, and temporary hit points.
Required Classes Bard (9).

Light Armor Proficiency
Description You are proficient with light armor, and do not suffer armor penalties to your attack rolls when wearing light armor.
Notes Granted automatically to barbarians, bards, clerics, fighters, paladins, rangers and rogues.

Shield Proficiency
Description You are proficient with bucklers and small and large shields.
Notes Granted automatically to barbarians, bards, fighters, paladins and rangers.
