iPhone Versions of Fallout Scrapped So Far

According to a quick chat Joystiq had with Bethesda's Todd Howard, the company has tried to bring Fallout to the iPhone, though all their attempts have been scrapped so far.

"I think that the world of Fallout is unique enough that it could work on any platform. I think some of the things we do like VATS, I think that could translate to any platform, particularly the iPhone," Todd Howard told us yesterday. "We've looked into those things, we just haven't found the thing that supports the brand well. I wouldn't be surprised if it does happen one day. The iPhone versions that we've designed and said 'Ehh, we don't think we're going to do that right now,' there are ... there are a lot of them."

I have to admit, I have never seen the fascination with playing graphics focused games on a phone.
I mean, this isn't Pacman we're talking about here
Then again, I can't see the point of using a cell phone for anything other than it's original, intended purpose.. to.. you know.. talk to people

I don't mind playing games on my mobile phone, especially to pass the time. Then again, I don't use it that often and if I do use it, it is for important matters.

Regarding the Fallout series on the mobile phone, I'm not too sure whether the limited memory size will be able to fit a game like Fallout. I would understand they were released on portable gaming platforms like the PSP or the DS, but certainly not on the iPhone or any mobile phone.
