In my last playthrough my Tremere took on Kanker with bloodshield, blood buff and his bare hands and used only a single blood pack. Unfortunately thats as much help as I can be without knowing who you're playing and what feats you've invested in.

Agreed. Maybe if you told us what your playing, what your stats are like, what items your carrying and so on, we could be more help. Also, seeing as it's been a while since I played, maybe you could remind me which one of the dirty little diseased vermin he is.. He's the one the bumbs point you towards?

Brother Kanker is the Nosferatu in the sewers of Downtown that Tin Can Bill sends you to during the Fun with Pestilence quest

I never found Brother Kanker that difficult, even with weaker characters. Essentially, I recommend using blood buff and any other "physical buffs" you have (Blood Shield, Fortitude, Potence, or Celerity) and just going at him with a strong melee weapon (at least a Fire Axe). If you do that (and use a blood pack to heal, if necessary), he should go down fairly easy. With vampires, I tend to avoid using guns most of the time. Closing the distance with a melee weapon and keeping them off balance is generally very effective.

I'm glad you finally got him. The next major fight in that quest can be a bit tricky as well. It's a fun fight, though. Good luck!

in future

you can avoid getting trapped - which is a good idea b/c aggravated damage tales time to heal.

you can't see him properly at a distance, but you can guess where he is so you can still shoot him.

if you shoot at him from beyond the portcullis (dropping gate) and wait long enough for him to leave his lair - you can get him to chase you to the pile of rubbish partly blocking the sewer - get up on it and just shoot him. he has no ranged weapon and can be easily disposed of from on top of the heap. then go back into the lair, collect his flyer (you'll need to use the switch to open the gate) and then go on your way.

the next boss in the quest requires decent fighting/ranged abilities, so you might want ot leave it until later...
