Personally, I find British Touring Cars the most interesting to watch, simply because it is, in my opinion, one of the more balanced sports, especially with the handicapped two race, weekends. I also fail to see how anyone can be amused or entertained by seeing to cars go in a straight line for 6-7 seconds.

Although this F1 season has been a lot more balanced than preivously, the sport as a whole is getting oh so repetitive, and is losing interest for me. Whereas I used to be able to sit and watch a whole race, no problem, I now just watch the start, poke my head into the living room (where my father is watching it) for snatches during the race, and occasionally check up on the results at the end, if the race has seemed interesting..

giles youve obviously never been to the drag races. The ground shakes, windows break, your eyes scream from the nitro being ejected into the air from supercharged 500 cubic inch monster motors. As the cars leave more horsepower is produced than the first 15 rows of the Daytona 500. at the 1/8 mile the cars have reached 280 MPH form a standing start. Its part bull ride, part ballet. But your entitled to have your curvy cars if you like.

superbikes. little shrink-wrapped people falling off bikes at incredible speed. however good a car crash is, it's not as good as seeing a rider sliding head-first though heavy taffic and into a wall :)
Here where the flattering and mendacious swarm
Of lying epitaths their secrets keep,
At last incapable of further harm
The lewd forefathers of the village sleep.

Vehicles serve as a mode of transportation from Point A to Point B.

I was forced into watching a Nascar race with the loop, and the noise and the driving in circles. I was so bored I fell asleep and fell off of the bleacher things everyone was sitting on. :o

I also saw the drag races there, and at another place. Despite the fast-paced change from the other type of racing I had witnessed, this one tended to irritate me more for the simple fact that it was terribly loud and gave me a wicked headache.

My landlord said something so simple, and yet wonderfully amusing a few weeks ago when his wife and older son were demanding for him to change the channel to watch a race. He said "no, it'll be over in another hour and my show's done in 20 minutes." They said "but we might miss something!" and he said "What? They're all going to turn around and go the other way for once?". They said "we just want to know who's in the lead and winning." He said "The guy in the car. He always wins." I couldn't stop giggling, it's so ludicrously simple and stupid, yet, it's so true. No matter how you break it down, that's how it works. :p
"You can do whatever you want to me."
"Oh, so I can crate you and hide you in the warehouse at the end of Raiders?"

I'm not a fan of motor sports, so my choice would be any motor sport that involves young women in tight clothing standing and jumping around. :)

Ha, I'm shocked and amused. :D

This is how I entertained myself when forced to attend such functions though. The vender's occasionally fit that bill. :p

Oh, yes: COMDEX and E3. That furnished many a pleasantly contemplatively moment between private meetings and interviews. ;)

You would have enjoyed the view at the festival yesterday then. Boo..., erm, bounty everywhere. :o

All of the people who went to the saturday drag races flooded the place when it let out just as it was shutting down due to a thunderstorm too. I found that amusing, people by the carload in NASCAR outfits being trampelled by wet screaming people. :D

Only motorsport I watch is Le Mans. Nothing else catches my fancy, I am just not interested in motors and cars and stuff. But Le Mans I watch as much of each year as possible for some reason. I think it is the 24hour which is the fascinating factor.

I am not especially interested in motorsports, but I used to follow F1 when I had more time and Ayrton Senna was alive, and I follow Paris-Dakar each year (last year at location!).

That reminds me! Plymouth-Dakar! It is a field of under £100 bangers making the same trek, but fo charity :) I find it hideously amusing watching an ice-cream truck conquering the dunes ;)

I still have faith in F1 (specially Barrichello :p ) and when I was younger my dream was to meet Ayrton Senna. Too bad he died too young :(

Who? :D

F1 is the only race I follow. I got to like it when I got together with my bf and he forced me to watch it every second week :D It's fun to support your favourite even if you can never tell which rule they'll modify next.
Up the IRONS!
