system requirements question for kotor 2

Post by mr_sir »

i have kotor 1 and it plays fine even though the configuration setup on it says my video card is not compatible with it. i have an intel integrated graphics chip that supports part of directx 9 but not all and i was wondering if anyone else had tried it with a similar graphics card and got kotor2 to work as i don't want to buy it if it will not work. many thanks.

Additional chipsets supported. For a complete list of supported 3D cards, please consult the Troubleshooting Guide, or visit the Technical Section of the LucasArts website at http://www.lucasarts.com.

The above is from the official site.

The complete list is here.

To answer your original question, I am not sure it would be wise to use the same graphics card that may have been uncompatitble with the first one. The second installment of the game was a little more touchy than the first regarding the system requirements. I am not, however, a graphics artist or anything along those lines, so my knowledge is somewhat limited.

Not sure if this will help... :o

i managed to get kotor2 quite cheap and tried it and it works so if anyone else is using an intel chipset you can play it. i have it on the higher screen resolution and high graphics settings too, although all the extra graphics stuff are turned off. only time it slows down is when going through smoke/steam but its not been a problem so far :)
