Weird Phenomonon

Perhaps someone can help me...

My computer crashed whilst I was playing KotOR 2, but luckily I had just saved. I restarted my PC and loaded up that savegame. Then, I noticed that all my visual preferences (such as mini-map off, hide quick launch icons etc) had been set to default. Then I noticed that there were no characters in my party - so I went to the party selection screen to find there was noone there!

Also, in the box underneath the character's portraits (where it says things like Atton, Level 10 etc...) it said "I'm very broken, so very, very broken."

What is going on???

(I went to an earlier save to continue. My preferences were default, but my characters were there)

Presumably its a file corruption problem and someone at Obsidian has a sense of humor
