Kitten with no name...

Post by thantor3 »

We recently adopted a new kitten at our house, but the poor little guy has forgotten his name. If you have a moment, perhaps you could suggest what his name might be and spark his memory. In attempting to discover his name, I went through the GB member list .*shudder* I stopped at "DeadlyVomit". :D

The kitten is a male, mostly grey with some light stripping on his two back legs and around his eyes. He is quite bright, curious, affectionate and whimsical, so names like "Dominator Shredgut" or "Garganumungus" will probably not work for him. :)

He seems to like one or two syllable names the best. Here are a few names that he seems to respond to so far:

Halo
Chibi
Nimbus
Lotus
Piper
Gingko
Bonsai
Qi
Musu
Tofu
Nyande (YAN-day; means beautiful in Krio)
Mu

And of course.... Buck. :D

The next dog I get is going to be named Gruntboy. Image
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

I can't help but thinking about my dog.
She passed away years ago, but I like her name a lott.
I think it can also be used for a male cat.

Aisja

Robbie, Robster, Rob or Robin are nice too. ;)

Thank you. I was just going to suggest Bloodmist, as well. Especially if the cat wears brass knuckles and has a tattoo on its left front leg reading "Mother." :)

A small gray kitten doesn't sound like a 'Gwally', unfortunately. Our gray cat is called 'Thor' and it suits him perfectly. He's got a nasty temper and a loud (thunderous) voice.

Our other cats are named 'Toby' and 'Lily'.

I had a gray cat in El Salvador that I named 'Gris'....

How about 'Lance'?
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

Just thought of this.
We used to have cats too.

One was called Poes.
That Dutch for cat.

Nice and simple. :D

Another was called Floor.
Forgot the rest since I was very young then. :(

I always choose the names of inantimate objects for cats - it is a purely personal choice and must be spontaneous - the first thought that came to me when when I read the description of the cat was:

"Toaster"

Ta da :)
