Hello everybody, glad to see that there is still an active forum for PS:T
this is my problem: i am replaying the final encounter only to finally see the famous Celestial Host spell in action but i can't get it to work. Whenever TNO casts it, i get an animation as if the spell was interrupted, but i am pretty sure that nothing hit TNO during the casting. I also get a message that tells something about "Magic Resistance" but i can't figure out who is meant to be resistant since TTO gets damage from other spells and TNO has a MR of 5%. I have tried to center the spell on TNO, TTO and neutral area but the efect remains the same. Could somebody please tell me, what could be the problem ? I don't feel like the game is finished before i have seen its animation
(I shouldn't write a reply when I dunno the answer, but what the heck ). Well, if TNO has enough resistance to reject this spell, then it seems that you can do nothing.... (besides, fighting with TNO is not the funniest way to finish that game, but you probably know about it ).
Then, if you just wanna see the animation (which is quite nice, truly), just load the game in some other location (if you've got enough saves) - e.g. in mortuary just before going to the Fortress, or before combating Ignus, and try it out! (ok, I know it's quite trivial what I've advised, but it's sufficient just to see the spell work.... )
The problem is, that I wrote the spell into my book as soon as I got it ( don't remember where it was) but TNO is unable to cast lvl 9 spells until that little XP boost right near the end. So maybe I should look for some save game editor and give him a second scroll. It's really just to see the animation.
On a side note: On another forum somebody told me that CH is self-centered so TNO's MR would prevent it from taking effect, just like healing spells don't affect high MR monks in BG2. But even if I strip TNO off all his tatoos and equipment and let him cast with a MR of 0, I still get the same result and as I see it, CH allows no saving throws so that really leaves me puzzled.
