Killing Snow Trolls?

Post by raphjd »

How do I kill Snow Trolls?

I tried fire and it didn't work.

I don't have anything that's cold.

Pound 'em to a pulp until they fall down, then use fire or acid on them. Flaming oil, acid arrows, and any spells that do fire/acid damage will do the trick. Fire arrows/bullets are not so good because they allow saves against the fire damage.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

No, fire and acid is all you need. Are you sure you're hitting them? After they've taken enough damage they fall to the ground then youhave a few moments to hit them with fire and acid (melf's acid arrow is a handy spell to keep around).

They sometimes survive the hit but not very often. The flaming oil pots have a small area effect too.

You must be doing it right to have gotten past the trolls in Dragons Teeth though.

I figured it out.

It took 2 hits with the Flaming oil.

Now I have the wand of flame (whatever it's called), but only have 6 goes left. :(

Luck of the dice then, sometimes it takes more than 1 hit.

Funny, I killed the snow trolls at the entrance to Dragon's eye without dowsing them with fire after. They just dropped dead. It also happened for a few trolls inside too. Not sure how. I don't have any fire weapons at this point and didn't cast any spells. They just croaked under a hail of axe and sword blows. Fine with me!

My bad. Those trolls were ice trolls that go down without fire or acid. Snow trolls need the extra death. Hint: they can save against fire arrows but acid arrows work everytime.
