I don’t think Gambit’s telepathy is that strong (In fact, I know some folks who argue he doesn’t even have any telepathic powers). From what I've seen it's primarily subtle suggestions, rather than an overt method of attack. And even if his telepathy was that powerful, few are as strong willed as Wolvie. In addition to the mental blocks Xavier installs in all X-Men and further mind shielding added by Apocalypse when Logan was the Horseman of Death, Wolverine also has the ability to go berserk – and then psychic attacks don’t work on him period. Telepaths have less chance against Wolvie then most. In a deleted scene in the X-Men movie Xavier tells Jean, "If you're going to read minds there are safer places to start than Logan's." 'Nuff said. Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

are you guys factoring in terrain and obstacles, or are they basically fighting in a room with nothing in it? If not, Wolverine could easily hide behind something and wait for gambit to walk by... If not, Wolvie is screwed...

Like I said, I'd give it an even draw. Meaning, they both die in a fight. However, both have their streigths and weaknesses. Given mabye 10 different fights, I say there is a good chance that they each win a few times.

I am behind!

But from my knowlege, Gambit, if he acts first. If he slips up then he stands no chance.

Indeed craig, initiative is the key...

...IMO, however, may I ask, is it needed for Gambit to touch the target object in order to transmute it from its potential form to kinetic energy?

If so, then he's in big trouble against Logan. By the time Logan comes into contact, he's nothing but butter threads... :rolleyes:

EDIT- Terrain also plays an important factor. If it were open space, Logan has much advantage... if it were a jungle type, then Gambit must find Logan first. ;) Sure Gambit would have lots of ammo on hand in the jungle, but you cannot hit what you cannot see. :cool:

I've never been a fan of Wolverine, but due to his comment when he abandoned the yellow tights in favor of black leather, in Grant Morrison's first X-men issue

"Suddenly, I am not afraid to walk the streets in bright sunlight and find me looking like a complete moron anymore" or something like that

I think with that he crushes Gambit in style, which is all that counts in my opinion :D

[turns on Wolverine voice mode]"You've said it, bub !"[/turns off Wolverine voice mode] - Wolvie known as X-Men Combat instructor; I don't think Gambit can beat his instructor :cool: :D
