Greetings Kam. I only had orientation, but so far so good. Met some nice people. Noticed there was a good faculty. Toured the campus and got my classes. It was a pretty good, but tiring day. School will start officially on Tuesday, and classes begin on Wednesday.
Good to hear you met some people - just be ultra-friendly, you never know when you'll need 200 extra friends
I'm starting at college in about a month...OK, exactly a month, and I'm pretty nervous, but I expect that as soon as I'm there I'll settle right in.
Bye CE

But with stealth mode, CE has become a cat in a box. She never really comes or goes.

According to my memory, you are 2 or 3 years younger than I. How did you get into college so soon? But Im sure youll fit right in. Be open and social. Start with small talk and then work your way into getting into conversations where you both have something in common. I must have intoduced myself hundreds of times on Tuesday, just to meet people and see a potential friendship. Some people were un-responsive, but more than most were happy to meet me.
Greetings Ode.

Well I'm 17, I was one year ahead of my age group through school and I see no reason to bum around for a year waiting for them to catch up
(apart from the bumming around bit, that is
) So this year is the one when I go to Uni. I've been told just to smile all the time and be as friendly as possible...even though most of the people you will never become friends with, through them you may well find some great people.

Ah so you are only a year younger than I. So there is less shame that you trounced me and in fact all of SYM in the Jeopardy game.
People at the school probably wont notice the age difference. A girl I met and became friends with is 17 aswell. I didnt even notice she was younger than I. Of coarse its only 1 year so its hard to tell anyway.
Changing the subject-I dont believe Ive ever seen a pic of you on the post your picture thread. Are you there?

Mmm, most people don't know until I tell them...

No I'm not actually, I don't have any digital pictures, or indeed a scanner - and there aren't actually that many pictures of me around...I guess when I get to Uni something will be done about that...

Wrong? A lack of time. I have work to do but I can't do it, I don't have the energy and I can't concentrate on it. The work was due last week and I am pissed off because I've got a headache and I can't think of what to write.

Yup. I know that feeling well. Those nights I was just happy to climb into bed, whether the work was done or not, I didnt care. I could relax. I usually just suffered through it, and was relieved when it was done. Is this some sort of research paper? I mean I have had to do 3 research papers in the last 2 years-all consisting of 8-12 pages. All of them I waited to the last minute to write-all of which I completed in 4 hours. Not bad time, but I had a gigantic headache after all of the papers.

Similar to a reasearch paper. I've got to write a coursework piece on The Wasp Factory and I've resorted to a glass of JD to calm down and relax. Maybe if I mellow I can write but I feel too tense.

Well then relax....It is probably the first step to writing papers. To be stressed while writing, I find I get discouraged and give up. A good idea might be to relax first, then take the paper 1-step at a time, taking breaks between paragraphs, talk to people online, get a drink, then get another paragraph in. It makes things run smooth, and it wont seem like a mountain to climb to write the paper.
Greetings, BS. Hows it going?

One word of caution about those pills, you may need to use a tazer to jumpstart yourself when the buzz is gone
But That's half the fun
