Ok I think ill try it. Any ideas on what to do about traps? I dont remember if i can detect them with the level 2 spell. I was more worried about dis-arming them.

Do i need to install TOTSC to use scimatars? I dont think ill be using a staff or dagger.

Well i got done with TOB and am still debating where or not to get IWD or the NWN expansions. I have played each original game once. (leaning more toward NWN)

I dont rember any locks that 100 skill points in couldnt pick. As far as detect trap goes; I think more points increases the area of the search or makes the trap appear faster when u search (at least it appears so for me). Plus ive been able to detect traps and not disarm them because my skill was ...

I cant remember if it was NWN or IWD, but i could wield 2 weapons and a bow. The weapon not in use dropped to my pack. This was nice for switching during combat, so i didnt have to go in my inv screen and take my weapons off manually.

I dont feel u need another mage. I did just fine with 1 in BG1,SOA and TOB. You might go for a cleric/mage. Id do a bard though , since imoen or jan wont cover all the thief skills. I played the bard (Garrick I think was his name) in BG1 and loved him. Perfect for buff spells, little extra fireballs ...

If your into backstabbing (I am). Do an assasin for the 7x. Also dual class him/her to a fighter for the added damge. Since i was gonna carry the char over to TOB. I went with staffs for Staff of the ram +6. This thing is awesome. Not all staffs can back stab, the +4 one u can buy will though.

I just got done with the whole series myself. Im partial to the fighter/thief myself. I felt they did good in all the BG series. Because of the exp cap in TOB u might not want to dual class one in BG1, say a level 6/7 or what ever it was for the 89k exp cap.
