I played through once with my 'traditional' party (2 Fighters, Cleric, mage, mage/thief). I always multiclss the thief so you don't end up with someone mostly useless in combat. My other choice is Barbarian/Thief, these two complement eachother nicley (both use light armor), the barabarian side ...
