Unless you have been taking ranks in Repair since level 1, you will never have enough to unlock HK-47's history and upgrades [end spoiler]. As for Persuade, it is always nice to be able to scam more money out of people, but not necessary. There are some NPC such as Yuthura Ban at the Sith Academy on ...

Carth puts the (verbal) smack down on Canderous at one point, which is great.

Carth also makes fun of Bastila for losing her lightsaber during the Endar Spire battle. As he puts it, "Doesn't that violate some sort of Jedi code?"

Not really an NPC-NPC conversation, but during Kashyyk, you can have ...

You can get the merchant down to 2,500 credits for HK-47, using either Persuade or "aggressive negotiation".

Other good ways to gain money:

* Sell armor and weapons. You only ever need 3 (or at most 4) suits of armor (Carth, Canderous, Mission, plus maybe yourself), so sell all the other ones you ...

This may be heretical, but I actually think you can get away with 0 ranks in Treat Injury. Things will be a little dicey on Taris, but by later in the game you'll have so many Medpacs, etc. that you will start selling them for the credits.

Persuade is a very nice skill to have, esp. for Light Side ...

One thing to keep in mind is that you need a large amount of cash to buy the Baragwin Assault Blade and the Heavy Exoskeleton . By the time you work up to that, the game is practically over. Also, you could purchase the Dominator Gauntlets from Mika Dorin on Korriban , and that would free up points ...

Bumping this months later, because I dig me some Jolee.

There is another great line on Korriban: You can tell Yuthura Ban that your NPCs are your slaves, in which case Jolee replies (paraphrased), "My hearing may not be so good, but I thought you said I was a slave. Yessir, massah." That is ...

Read the walkthru... there is a sneaky way to avoid being banned, even if you took the action that normally gets you banned.

This is actually a pretty tough battle for when it occurs in the game... especially if you are saving up levels on your main character to go Jedi. (i.e., not leveling up past 4th or 5th in your base class)

A couple of things. They are both using shields, so your energy weapons (blasters or Bastila ...

I have actually grown rather fond of the implant that prevents critical hits. With that, plus something to give you immunity to mind-affecting, you can wade into battle much more readily. Watch in amusement as burly foes confirm crit after crit against you, but only do normal damage. Laugh off Dark ...

Re: HK-47... really? You can hack the Sand People apart without gaining Dark Side points? I'll have to try that.

Back to the original question -- does the number of NPCs in your party effect your XP -- it should be pretty simple to test this. Load a game right before a fight and test it with 0, 1 ...

Regarding Int 8: as you can never have fewer than 1 skill point per level, Int 8 for a Soldier is effectively the same as Int 10. Thus there is no min/max reason for a Soldier to choose Int 10, ever.

And like Armisael said: who cares about skill points with this build? You're not going for finesse ...

So extrapolating from the above thread, the challenge is: can you win the game without ever using any NPCs in your party?

There are a few places where you have to use an NPC, like:

[Spoilers!]
On Taris you need T3-M4 to slice into the Sith military base. On Dantooine, if you're doing Light Side ...

May as well go Int 8 to free up a couple of points... the only skills you care about are Treat Injury and (maybe) Persuade, anyway.

I would ditch Flurry and pick up Implant feats instead. Implant 2 can give you the Retinal Combat Implant (immune crits, +1 attack) or the Nerve Enhancement Package ...

does Scoundrel's Luck stack with Jedi Sense?

Pretty simple question, really: does Scoundrel's Luck stack with Jedi Defense?

Scoundrel's Luck is the free feat that characters of that class get, granting +2 Defense at 1st level, +4 at 6th, and +6 at 12th.

Jedi Defense is the free feat that all Jedi get, granting +2/+4/+6 Defense at 1st/6th ...

The way you get off Taris already has kind of a Dark Side vibe to it.

I think you guys are crazy if you say that Improved Toughness (DR 2/-) is useless! I can tell you right now that if that feat existed in D&D, everyone who does any fighting would take it.

Over the course of KotOR you will get hit thousands of times, and Improved Toughness will reduce the damage you ...

Call me an iconoclast, but I don't invest much into Treat Injury early in the game. (Pre-Dantooine.) At the Endar / Taris stages, none of the enemies is too tough, and there is ample free healing -- transit back to your hideout, visit Zelka Forn, or talk to the Outcast Healer in the Undercity.

Plus ...

I like Persuade. :)

Playing as a Soldier with Wis 15 / Cha 14, I have put all available skill points into Persuade, even though it's a cross-class skill. That way I can get some decent reactions even before gaining Affect Mind as a Jedi.

I still wouldn't make my main PC's Charisma higher than 14 ...

I think I figured it out!

Armisael is right about Wisdom, but you also gain one Force Point per level for each +1 Charisma modifier. Observe the following NPCs and their starting stats:

Bastila starts with 27 Force Points (FP)
Jedi Sentinel 3 = 18 FP
Wis 12 (+1) x Level = 1 * 3 = 3 FP
Cha 15 (+2 ...

How exactly does Wis affect Force points?

Newbie here, so forgive me if this is an obvious question.

How, exactly, does your Wisdom modifier affect your Force points? The manual only says:

"A high Wisdom adds modifiers to Jedi Force powers...."

That's not very helpful. What kind of modifiers?

Thanks.
