the galaxy droid is a glitch that lets you go to any World. as well as the The Endar Spire,Taris,Dantooine,the Leviathan, and the star forge. and yes it does affect gameplay. as in most of the quests will be reset.

i dont think that this is random. and i might know a way to get it. first off on the way to the Leviathon. DO NOT GO TO KASHYYYK and get Jolee Bindo. now after the shooting game at the end of the Leviathon. you will be back or your ship talking to your party. now talk to HK-47 and say BUT I FOUND ...
