im in the planar sphere and i cant figure out how to get to the place with the demon heart!! Does it have to do with getting past the cowled wizard losers in the power core room?! if so, how do i beat them?

i'm gonna start a new cavalier this weekend but i cant decide on which weapon to use:

Two Handed Sword- cool magicals good damage
Hammer=shields-awesome magicals but not a lot of damage
Flail of Ages-sounds cool but never could get it

plz help and tell me where to get the flail ...
