What is your clerics Wisdom? If I recall correctly, you need as much wisdom to cast the spell from a scroll as if you had just cast it from memory. Try casting owls wisdom or drinking a potion of the same name and see what happens.

I've been following this fiasco on Biowares board with some degree of amusement. Apparently there are two big issues:

1. A major skill point problem wherin all skill points are lost.

2. An update in Securom made the game unplayable on many CD-RW drives.

I am especially bemused by problem 2 ...

I just started a Barbarian for solo a well... I'm doing it on insane difficulty and I'm about to set sail for Brynnlaw (after completing most Chapter 2 quests). I have TOB and Baldurdash patches, as well as harder monster scipts installed. Some interesting things:

Yeah, I made an erroneous statement I hoped to correct before anyone caught it, and rereading my post I realized it came out "harsher" than I had intended. I meant no offense, nor did I take any, sometimes when I get into "argue" mode I pull out stops I shouldn't.

Good points, but I still must disagree... If the issue is what you want to have the most fun playing, then it's a personal thing... I'm just saying the easiest character (therefore most powerful) to solo with is an illusionist fighter.

Oh I doubt it is "highly unfair" considering that dual-clases are so overpowered already. I suppose that is the price you have to pay for a fighter with "use any item" ability, or a mage with all t he combat bonuses of a kensai.
