but to actually go through the game you gotta do 'good' deeds. you can't really be evil. i did kill gorion before though. but the game ended. see what i mean ?!?!
I gotta try that, that is hilarious...

Just for giggles I quicksaved and then I unloaded a fireball right into a ...

And just out of curiosity how would you know if someone got hit by lightning if it didn't do any damage?
As I mentioned earlier, it's the exact same effects as 'call lighning', it's the vertical white lightning strike, replete with the same sound...

Anyways, whatever.

Moving on. If you don't ...

One more you say? You got it!

Well I know from my own experience that "natural" lightning can have a detrimental effect. I was on one of the coastal screens when it started to rain. I had just killed a siren and was picking up the loot when lightning hit and Minsc yelped. RIGHT after he hollered ...

Few more. I mean since I was flatly accused of 'making it up', I feel compelled to drive the point home.

Speaking of lightning bolts....I was walking off the map where Lathander is, towards Beregost. As soon as I clicked on the Beregost map my PC was struck by lightning, but it did no damage. I ...

I did a search for 'lightening' on PlanetBaldursGate forums, and sure enough, several posts mention it.

I loved the dig. What I missed was the guy with the whip and the hat!

I agree about the lightning-effect though. I almost fell off my ...

If it's not part of the game, then it was a bug/glitch. The effect was the same as the high level cleric spell (forget the name). The bolt that comes straight down vertically for about 1-2 seconds. I have not motive to make it up. It happened.

Someone has had to have experienced it. I'm sure I'm ...

Have you been struck by lightning before?

I freaked out, this had never happened to me before. Walking through one of the nature maps at night with rain. No enemies anywhere..

ZAP!!!!

Giant bolt of lightning strikes poor unsuspecting Ajantis...took about 10 points damage...

Never knew this was a part of the game.

Anyone else get ...

And I agree...

Xan is the man!!

His dread and persistent impending sense of doom keeps me well entertained. I just heard a line from him I hadn't heard before, something like "The majesty of the forest makes me feel soooo insignificant" :p

"If you want"
"Whatever!"

I guess that's the challenge with Garrick. He is SUCH a pansy. You could charm a squirrel, have the wee squirrel attack Garrick and Garrick would find a way to die.

I want to put some meat on his bones, put some hair on his chest.

But admittedly, Garrick or Branwen aren't that obscure though ...

If you've ever seen a GameSpot gaming guide before, you'd understand. FAQ's walkthroughs are as bland as plain oatmeal with too much water. A GameSpot guide is oatmeal with a rich creamy texture, brown sugar, syrup and some walnuts.

But seriously, they are pdf files to start which are real purdy ...

Gamespot has BGII game guide, but as I thought, part of subscription service. I've seen their game guides before, and they are very in depth and VERY nice.

No luck with BG1 though

I forget what the site was now, I think it was Gamespot, that had AWESOME pdf game guides. I think they still have them, but part of the subscription package. Have to check that. When they were free, I used to wonder how long it would be before they start charging, they were just to good to be free ...

I ditched K and J for same reasons. I got 20 rep and got tired of Jaheria's whining. For me, they pop up at the Inn in Naskel quite frequently. I usually give them the finger before getting a room for the night. Good riddance!

I also ditched Branwen for same reasons, and as an FYI she shows up at ...

I've lost a few characters like that, and since I play purist style, in most situations I chalk up the loss. Realism. Going back to previous saved games to me takes so much out of the game. But on occasion I will...just rarely.

Just checking in...

Hey peeps,

Haven't posted in ages. Got sidetracked with Torment, Icewind Dale, and Battlefield 1942. I cranked up BG again, still need to finish so I can proceed to BG2 which is collecting dust (tragic isn't it?).

Just wanted to say hello.
