I'm presently in Legendary at Olympus and cant seem to find the waypoint at all. Is there a waypoint there or after i kill him do i just save the game and restart all over again?? I've looked on regular, epic and now legendary and cant seem to find the waypoint to lock in the return trip. Any help ...

Yes you can stop in game wherever you like...but upon re-entering you will enter at the last active rebirth spawn. Ive pretty much found the same thing using my lvl 39 Oracle. I've discovered its pretty much pure luck of the game creation likewise. Hoping the items will get better as my lvls increase.

Observation on Ternion Skill: I have tried the skill and cant seem to get it to fire unless i hotkey it and target monster. Each monster has to be hotkey'd. It doesnt seem to be as fast as just left clicking and using staff's built in elemental dmg for quick easy killing on large groups as they come ...

From what i read on this sites walkthru you cant do both quests as they conflict each other. Once you commit to either Thief or Beggar gang the opposite gang becomes automatic enemies. Thief you have to kill beggar boss and Beggar you have to kill Thief boss. Hope this clears it up for you.
