I use standard attack script for my fighters and no script for my spellcasters

And... Baldur`s Gate II is a bit linear too. From Asylum through Sahuagin Sity to Underdark there is only one path to follow

IMHO, Keldorn+Carsomyr+ Chaotic Commands cast on him is just great. Carsomyr is my favorite weapon and you can find it early in the game

Are there thief bonuses for dexterity above 19?

Imprizon immunity will be more important in Throne of Bhaal, IMHO

barbarians are immune to imprizon too
