Characters in both tended to be somewhat extreme and archetypical (or is it archetypal?). The Good Guys were really, really good and the Bad Guys were really, really evil.
Ahh but a main hero, Han Solo was not extremely good or evil. Also, Darth Vader is another example of a mix.
The whole ...

Ok but hold on here.. many of the games you mentioned as "non-jedi" are much older like the original dark forces. Therefore the technology, especially the "unreal" gaming engine had not been developed and Jedi oriented games are a new phenomenon. I believe Galactic Battlegrounds, though not centred ...

Do Star Wars Movies and Video games place too much importance on Jedis?
Well here's a rant and some comments about what I hope to see in KOTOR II. (o any future Kotor game).
When I was growing up, just a wee kid, I watched SW and ESB for the 1st time and of course loved it. I would always play Star Wars With my older sister and she would always want to be Han Solo or ...

Is Force Wave Too Powerful?
I apologize if this was mentioned in another thread, I looked a bit and I didn't find it.
Anyways, isn't this Jedi power unbalanced. It knocks down (and does damage) to everyone arround the Jedi except his allies. When they get up, they are usually in stun mode. Easy pickins for sneak attacks or ...

Well I was actually thinking more of a "Han Solo" type of character or a permanent "scoundrel", emulating how he fought in the original trilogy (though I know he didn't use both hands).
This is actually very easy. I want to assemble all of Cassus Fett's items on my lead character. The extra armor ...

Actually, I have modified my own rules to mean "no melee" period. I am not using any swords or lightsabers but blasters only. The game is just too easy with lightsabers and force powers used appropriately. Therefore thre is no need for strength, Wisdom or Charisma. and DEX and CON are all-important ...

I just fought him using my "pure soldier experience", no melee, with Carth and Zaalibar using blasters only. My chaacter has improved rapid shot and 2 handed fighting. I cusomized garth to have impoved power blast and 2 weapon fighting. This fight was a joke. I'm not even using the soldier class ...

Well, in the movies, Qui-Gonn Jinn tried to use force pursuade to get the ship parts but failed at it. In Ep II Obi Wan was kind of just playing around when he used it in that Cantina.
Anyways, in the game, violence is usually an option to replace force pursuade. You can threaten at various times ...

Playing KOTOR as a true "SOLDIER".
The challenge:
Play Star Wars KOTOR as a true Soldier. In other words, no lightsabers, no Force Powers, Not even Melee weapons like VIbroblades. Just blasters, body armor, mines, grenades and medpacs and the like. So far I'm on Taris and I find it challenging but still doable on Normal mode.
What ...

Skills - what's the point?
Hello, I have played this game twice now. I enjoy the game but I am frustrated by certain unbalances. One of them being that "skill oriented" characters are rather pointless. I used a Soldier-Guard in my first game and
most fights were quite easy. I had many feats including full power attack. But ...
