Yep, I ran around too. I had the same problem with the tram not being there, but I found that if I waited long enough I would hear the tram arrive. Only then could I run in and escape the were.

Jin don't stay dead *possible spoiler*
I'm in the temple and have noticed that the kuei-jin guards seem to regenerate 3-4 times before finally dying. Is this a bug or are they supposed to do that? It's getting very annoying.
