Personally I found Diablo 2 far superior to the first part. Especially with the different classes, skill trees, runes and gems. Although the first part had the more intense dungeon crawler feeling. Going deeper and deeper and deeper....

Yeah. Although I found Diablo 2 to be a good game with more ...

Fallout Tactics
Fallout 3
Dragon Age 2
Jade Empire
Neverwinter Nights OC

These are the ones I remember. They were all huge let downs for me because they turned out so differently "bad" from what I was expecting/hoping.

My list:

1. Fallout 2
Bigger and better in every way than the first. This game completely sucked me in. I've completed it countless of times.

2. Fallout
Very good game. I actually only played it after I stumbled on and completed Fallout 2.

3. Fallout: New Vegas
Nothing compared to the first ...

This game is a very frustrating experince for me. I find myself posting angry forum post everywhere more than I'm actually playing the game. If the game was any good I wouldn't have time with that.

For me DA1 was a step in the right direction from Neverwinter. It gave me hope that there was still ...

having completed the game a few times now though I have a new big complaint. replayability

I agree completely. That's why I think the combat is so important. Lets face it, you usually spend more than 50% of your time doing combat in RPGs. If combat doesn't offer a wide and different array of ...

The "console action gamer"? When then has there been far more turn-based RPGs released on consoles in the past ten years than on PC?

Since ever. I was once a NES/SNES owner myself. Consider this list of older "computer-only-platform" turn-based games:

Space crusade
Sabre team
X-COM series ...

I feel this game is more aimed at the larger population of console action gamers rather than the smaller group of PC RPG gamers. I feel that these two groups are VERY mutual exclusive no matter how desperately developers try to assure us of otherwise.

I certainly will not be buying this game at ...
