Yes, changing Carsomyr to a Longsword would make it less powerful...until someone dual wields it.

These are the things to look at when you are choosing your holy sword:

a) What weapon skill you like to use?

b) Do you like to use a shield or another weapon?

c) How many paladins will be in your group.

Personally, I think if you're looking into ratios, min & max damage, your missing the point ...

Who I am currently using:

Protagonist: Orland (Paladin, no cheese, classic Purifier and Shield of Harmony)

NPC 1: Keldorn (with Carsomyr, aka extra-cheese with Canadian Bacon)

NPC 2: Aerie (Romantic interest Wields Flail of Ages aka Ball and Chain)

NPC 3: Minsc (with Boo, except no substitutes ...

Haven't seen Carsomyr +6's stats, but, unless they are a major improvement over it's +5 version, I probally will not prefer it, since I'm a fan of one hand slashing weapons.

Ok, I'm trying to confirm a rumor and am wondering if anyone has seen or found, of can extract the info on this.

Someone mentioned another Holy Avenger in the game, a +3 or +4 Purifier, has anyone found or know if such a weapon exists?

I did a direct edit of the description, nothing spectacular, used another item as reference.

I ended up turning it to a 2 hand to see if it'd be more acceptable with the design, but still no luck.

Nope, it did, for some reason it does not like the Protector at All.

The only reason I'm not for it being 2 handed right now, is the speed of the weapon, with maxxed points in 2 hand skill it has a speed of 0.

Which means it's faster than Carsomyr, though ironically, it's as fast as the impaler.

As for placement of weapon, I'd stick it with either the Shadow Dragon ...
