Is this a TOB thing, because I'm not sure what you mean by Anomen's spell sequencer... there was one fight in the game (can't remember which one) where the dialogue box told me that one of the enemies had cast a spell sequencer on anomen that included the spells you mention but I didn't know if that ...

Basically, I wasnt to temporarily get Valygar in my party to open the planar sphere, but Jaheira is in the middle of her Harper quests ...

Doesn't defensive spin improve AC by 1 per level (max -10AC), and keep you rooted to the spot. This enhanced bard song ability gives you a similar AC boost (if your AC is at or near 0) and a whole host of other benefit eg magic res for you and party.

I was thinking something similar about the defensive spin ability of the blade kit... seems to have been totally negated. I have a bad feeling that bards are going to get short shrift in TOB.

BTW any word on further spell progression for bards? Will they ever see 7th levels spells and above ...

Irenicus' Dungeon does suck...

But I also agree that the paladin quests are pretty pathetic too. To activate them you need to have carsomyr, and yet they send you on piddling quests to deal with a couple of ettins, and to mediate some dispute. Far too much travel and effort for too little gain. And ...

The books are very good, although none of them reach the high level attained by the first book in the series "The Wizard's First Rule".

Seems like a potentially cool ability gone to waste...like the druid shape change ability (who wants to change into a bear?)

Sorry about bumping this back to the top. I think it must have gone unnoticed... surely someone out there must know what bard song does.

I did some checking and characters affected by the bard song don't appear to have any thaco modification. Does the bard song only affect morale???!!!

Hmm, I've been looking around the Gamebanshee site after reading the manual, the in game description, and looking back at the BG1 manual, but none of these sources describe what the actual game effects of the (vanilla) bard song are. The game only tells you when the effects are different i.e. jester ...
