Probably some spoilers in here

I didn't like KOTOR2 as much as the first either. I think the first was better in virtually every way..

-KOTOR1 ran smoother, despite KOTOR2 looking basically exactly the same

-the story of KOTOR2, IMHO, is very lame. It starts off VERY slow, then about 8 hours ...

Mine has done that a few times too.. and it also starts up in windowed mode most of the time.. my guess is that it's just a bug in the game. KOTOR1 crashed a lot whenever I would go down into the Shadowlands on Kashyyyk.. never did figure out why. Make sure your graphic card drivers, sound drivers ...

One more question: does the exile's gender or light/dark side alignment have any bearing on any of that?
