Hey DW! It has been so long, so so long since a post at GB. However, I implore you (and all others reading) to check out the Jayhawks, and alt-rock/country band that started in the 80s but still plays today.

FYI- I experience hte same pathfinding issues you're talking about- my guys just ...

Forgive my bluntness but this wasn't exactly the feedback that I was expecting from fellow veteran players out there, especially in my other thread similar to this one, it's actually very disappointing.
Maybe the problem isn't the people on the board, but rather the thread itself. I saw the thread ...

@Mar

I agree with the SMB (San Miguel Beer). When I was in Manila we drank a lot of SMB. The cool thing was that the Pinoys always put ice in the beer; at first I thought this was strange, but after a while I tried it and it is great. The Philippines are so hot that beer gets warm quick. SMB with ...

Jeez, I don't know the answer to that, Tower_Master. In fact, I'm not even sure what you're asking.

BG2 runs great on my machine now, after I figured all that stuff out and turned off spotlight updating on the BG2 folder. However, as you mentioned, I don't have an intel Mac.

Generally, BG2 on a ...

Hey Pell,

I think the campaign sounds interesting! I also think that you are suffering from a simple lack of response. In fact the campaign you've outlined doesn't sound all that different from the BG2:SOA campaign story- limited magic, powerful thieves guild, etc. I say... run with it! And let us ...

The Upper Valley of Vermont, not too far from New Hampshire. It's June 8, 2008, and it is hot! It is the kind of how we rarely get up here- pushing 90 degrees F, high humidity... and I love it! It's sunny, and thunderstorms are projected for later today. Nice! :D

He can't be Lawful Good, would a LG person make a live sacrifice to Demogorgon, the Chaotic Evil Demon Prince? I think not, he must be Chaotic.
A LG person might conceivably make a live sacrifice of an evil creature to enable the summoning and killing of an even more-evil creature, like a Demon ...

I was actually able, with the help of the folks over at pocketplane group to figure out a workaround. I had done a full install, as per your suggestion, but I was still getting asked for disks. So I opened up my baldur.ini ...

Here is why: The force power Master Speed adds two swings to your attack. A person with a single lightsaber will have 3 swings all together. Let's say that each of those swings does 30 damage. Critical Strike will add a 40% chance to deal double damage with each of those swings. If we add a 40% to ...

Dueling is worth it, if you plan to use a single lightsaber.

^^^He's right. It also depends on whether or not you're going to go with flurry or crit hit. Two weapon fighting generally works with flurry, and dueling with crit hit. Dan Simpson goes into great length on his KOTOR Guide about this ...

It's a few days later and I'm still having problems. I've been informed that on OS 10.4, Spotlight can interfere and cause saved game crashes. Ergo, the word from MacEasyTutu Guide v 2.3 is to disable spotlight indexing on all BGII folders:

"If running OS 10.4.x Spotlight indexing has been known to ...

Figured it out

After many hours of troubleshooting, I figured it out: it was a corrupted "temp" file in the original SOA install (who'da thunk that?!). I found this at the macplay FAQ, somewhat buried under the SoA section.

I wrote up a little guide for all Mac users on newer systems. Below is ...

Mac Install issues; saved game crash

I'm a longtime BGII player. On my last computer I had the Mac version of SOA and TOB installed with no issue. Now I'm on a new computer- an IBook 1.33Ghz G4 laptop. I'm running OS 10.4.11. I'm re-installing the game after a long time away from the game, and I'm getting a problem I can't get around ...

I'm pretty sure 20 is always a hit, it certainly is in BG1, it's the only way to hit Drizzt IIRC. It's certainly the only way I've hit him.

I couldn't kill Drizzt in BGI- I didn't have the patience to wait him out.

I was pretty sure 20 always hits, but then how could a 0 make a save? Did the ...

Yeah. But he did ask about a thief for his evil party, and the game isn't exactly overflowing with evil thieves, right?
That's one of the big problems with BGII- the dearth of thieves. Rogue classes have the best HLA in the game, but there isn't a vanilla Thief [spoiler?] (except Yoshi... but we ...

This is a great thread. Please keep it up- I want to keep hearing about this character!

That raises a point I've been wondering about for some time. Does the game actually implement the golden rule, that one is always a fail, irrespective of anything else?
Does anyone have the answer to this? I ...
