I am in the swamp and went all around it and cleared the entire swamp, but how do I get into the cave. I can see it in the screen, but I do not see the opening.

I rescued Merik now I am looking for his staff. I went into the caverns with the ice crystal things and went down into the dungeon where you have to use coins to weigh down the pressure plates. I went down to what seems to be the bottome where in one of the chests you get a big eye pearl thing. Is ...
