I am currently playing my second BGII game with a female main char, mainly because I wanted to see what the Anomen romance was like - I didn't use Anomen at all in my first game (in my first game of course I was a male)

Yes I went to Saerk's palace - Anomen wasn't on either floor - there was just a servant who told me Anomen had been, killed Saerk and gone! Yes, this was probably after 4 days since he left as I did all the Trademeet and Druid Grove Quests before returning to the main city.

I would say it depends on whether you want to play for the most party interaction or not. If your main guy is male, take Jaheira. If your main guy is female, take Anomen, purely for the intriguing (if rather sickening) romances! Also, if you have Jan in your party take Anomen - some of their ...
