Sorry to go lame. It looks like you're doing everything right, so something simple pretty much has to be going wrong.

Specifically, did you put "Cheats=1" under the [Game options] tag in icewind.ini? This is relevant. The line can't just be dumped anywhere. The quotes need to be left out.

It sounds silly, but check to make sure both tab and ctrl keys aren't stuck.

Try enabling the console in your configuration.

Yes, I put that Cheats=1 line in the .ini file. I'm playing on a laptop, so all keys involved are fine.

I'm playing IWD with the Heart of Winter expansion, version 1.42, and I can't get the cheat console to come up (CTRL-TAB). I have added the "Cheats=1" line to the .ini file, but can't seem to get the console up.

What am I doing wrong?

If you start a game using the demo, can you import the saved character into the final retail game? I'm getting it tomorrow, and have the demo now, I'm just wondering if I can start the demo in earnest, and transfer my game to the boxed version.

I have this pre-ordered from Gamestop. There release date has been 8/23 for a while, this date also is listed at Walmart. From what I've played of the demo, you can save anytime, anywhere; however, when you load the game back, you aren't in the exact spot you saved it at - you reappear at a "hub", and must travel back to the place you were at. At least, that's my experience so far.
