The downloaded copy of CD 2 that I found works fine, so I guess it must have been an issue with the CD that I had.

I did keep the CD in the drive, but thank you for asking me the obvious - I'm stupid enough that I might well have missed something obvious.

Burning the CDs results in the same problem; I've emailed Platter to see if he can help at all.

No Joy

Tried the crack - thanks for looking for it for me, by the way - but although now I can start the game without needing CD2 (I just have my drive empty), whereas previously it prompted me for CD2 at startup, I still can't get past the character creation screen - it still prompts me for CD2 ...

No, it didn't work even without the patch. Any other suggestions?

Glad it worked for you, but...

Sadly I have the four CD version. I'll try to load it again tomorrow without the patch and see if that works, but I think I tried that already...we shall see. :-/

I really hope someone can help me. Having heard many good things about Planescape, I bought a copy second-hand from ebay. It seemed to install fine on my PC (which has Windows XP); I downloaded the patches to get me up to 1.1 (official) and the unofficial fan patch too.
