how long was it b4 the game started working correctly.

i am having difficulties with kotori have made it to dantooine, and am out on the matale grounds, the frame rate drops to a point where the game is unplayable, i am running an ati radeon x600 video card. i lowered the settings as far as possible and downloaded the updates but it still doesnt work ...
