In light of the Mass Effect 3 debacle, we are lacking in a good sci-fi RPG based in space. Currently we only have the Fallout series. Looking forward to Wasteland but I would love another space-based RPG to play.

Maybe a totally new game in the Traveller universe with the latest RPG rules then.

Megatraveller Remake/Sequel

With Wasteland getting a sequel, it would be nice to have a remake of the Megatraveller RPG or a sequel.

What do you guys think?

This is a quote from the readme:

"To install the patch extract this archive into the game folder using
options that keep the directory structure intact and overwrite every
file of the same name."

You should have have installed the official 1.2 patch beforehand.

Mega Traveller

One of my favorite old CRPGs were the Mega Traveller series. They were based on the PnP RPG of the same name.

My question is why is nobody coming up with new CRPGs based on Mega Traveller? I would love to play it.

But I saw it running on a PS2 just a couple of weeks ago. Looked like the self running demo that kicks in when you leave the controller untouched for some time. In the end it clearly displayed the word "Eldergate". That is why I was asking about it here.

Anyway, I will try to find out about it and ...

Yes. Me too. I stopped playing RPGs after Fallout 2. I switched to turn-based strategy games like the Civilization series. I started again in 2004 when KOTOR came out. I thought it was cool to play a Jedi. From there I went to play NWN since it is also by Bioware. I have since lost interest in TBS ...

Eldergate

The other day I saw a game called Eldergate running on a PS2. Looked like a console RPG. A search here did not turn up anything. A search on GameSpot revealed an RPG of the same name released on Playstation (original, not PS2) by Konami in 2000. Does anybody know whether is this a remake of that ...

DesR85: Yes, I'm from Malaysia. You can probably guess how old I am based on the games I listed. Some of the people here mentioned RPG's that were out only a couple of year ago. They must be pretty young. Many only go as far back as to Baldur's Gate. Other games I love are KOTOR, KOTOR2, Neverwinter ...

Favorite TPG Music

My favorite RPG music was when Yuna was doing the "sending off" (or whatever it was called) of the dead in Final Fantasy X. She was dancing in the lake and music was so haunting that I replayed the cutscene over and over again just to hear the music.

It is a toss up between the Magic Candle I and Fallout I. My first RPG was Ultima III but I never finished it and never started on the other Ultimas after that. Magic Candle was the first one I finished and it was then that I decided that my favorite genre was and still is CRPG. Also, Fallout left ...

The Magic Candle.

The first one I ever finished. Hooked on RPGs ever since.
