I see your point. It IS much harder once you got to ToB for a solo char, since all of the chars would have special abilities, etc.. In the beggining you will be walking around with low level bards until the middle of hte game. Much rather have a level 25 bard in Spellhold than 6 level 15 bards. But ...

I don't know if his fist counts as magical or not. He never broke through my mirror images and stone skin. I wish my monk had his abilities though, they are pretty cool.

Edit: Yes, as he is a monk his attacks should count as magical. Because of that quivering palm should not get through.

Sarevok got his "Deathbringer Assault" when I fought him. That battle didn't last long. mirror image, stoneskin, prot from magical weapons, improved haste and tensors make a fighter mage whup him. Heck I'd suspect a normal mage with the staff of ram could whip him.

I love the plain ol mage. I love contigencies and spell trigggers. It's really fun to use cool strategies to beat opponents. You actually feel like u earn your intelligence score. I used to think Minsc was funny until he started yelling every 2 seconds when my rep went over 16. I thought Cespenar and the spectator beholder were the funniest. I also thought all the bad guys were funny that thought my level 20+ party were going to loose to them.

It is quite possible to go through solo without cheesing it. I went through with a fighter through irenicus dungeon and then dualed to a mage when i got outside. Using scrolls and quests I got my fighter skills back and then it was like playing a bard until level 9/14, when I got a leve l7 spell ...
