I had this problem too-- and I did hit the TAB key to try to highlight the Gem, but to no avail-- I don't think he dropped it.

Now, in my case anyway, he (the Balor) had summoned another Balor that outlived him and then disappeared a few rounds later (I assume because the summoning wore off), could ...

1. I think it is a bug- it didn't seem to happen to me and I haven't seen that posted beofer- I finished the game 4 times-- BUT to "even things out" in the HP area- you could use the "glitch" I discovered- look for my post on Klusaar's Amulet.

2. I am not sure about the feats- the game ...

Update- Things seem to be working Well without Scather in the party- I actually had to leave it in Nulb, just unequipping it didn't help much.

Does anyone have any idea when I can Re-equip Scather? I am on the third level now...

In this game, in most cases, by right clicking on a chest, you have the option of smashing the chest-- that MAY help you get past the lost keys problem...

Thanks again LP, I wish me luck tonight without Scather-- It is important to note though, that my lock ups and non-initiative ending problems existed when fighting Fire Temple Bugbears as well as the Fire brothers--in areas around the main fight...

Yes house rules are a must, but indeed can be overdone--Game balance is the issue to keep in mind :)

Massively reproduceable, at least when it comes to the Identify 1st level spells. I exploit that level quite a bit. But, I have seen it work on Magic Missile, more than once when 0 1st level spells showed, and once on Scorching Ray, a 2nd level spell.

#1 You can sometimes get past the "magically locked doors" in the Temple by clicking your characters past the door.
