try with the bucket,token and book in ur inventory to open the door!
if it doesn't work quit patching with 2.2

man try restarting u'r whole game(u ain't gone so far )and try to escape the cutscene!
O! i've bee hearing only nasty yhings about this 2.2 patch(lots of bugs!)
By the way,ur gona fight those 4 armed beasts(rustguards-> verry nasty guys)

about the chalice *spoiler*

man have any of us,hard working siegers,tried to talk with the drunkman,from the kalrathian bar???(ofcourse with the chalice in his inventory :d )

if u don't have a backup save,all is lost on that level,u can get there only on other diff. levels...ofcourse in the same way get the bucket.token and book...

if u had compleeted the main quest from act 2 (after u kill the vai'kesh high-priest,or something like that...),u are in arnith's ravine area...he's in that area,and when he'll see u he''ll release a demon fron a cage (easy to kill,but bood artifacts and money$$$$$)
i don't know exactly the area ...

be carefull man...!!!
DON'T add to ur party chars from the inn imediately u go on veteran!!!
it's possibly a bug on my version but if u add one.u won't be able to acces ur last save game...i had to reinstall ds2 and play from a backup copy(verry important & usefull for "lore of Aranna" quest ...

thanks a lot for the ansure swc,but i was interested if u can succede with a party of the same speciality(let's say 3 melee and (obviouselly)a nature mage).
I've tried and it works :p (hard at the begening,sooooooo hard),on merc i had only 3 melee chars and Deru(nature),but on the next diff. I ...

I saw on a site one party formed by 3 sharpshooters and a nature mage,one by 4 mages(3 combat and 1 nature).
is there any means of succes with this kind of a party?yhen i guess if u have 3 melees and a grand mage it's really easy(ain't it???)
pls post here and say u'r oppinions!

I think u may return to merc,if u have only 3 members in your party...
same thing happend to me and I was angry ,but then i've tried this way and it worked...
