At least on my machine all I had to do was unplug the USB cable to the infrared remote for my tuner card. As long as it is unplugged the console works within both morrowind and oblivion. It stops as soon as I plug it back in. I did not have to modify or delete any ...

I have the same problem as the guy above. I also have a new Dell (Win xp Media Center) with a wireless keyboard and cannot access the console in either morrowind or oblivion. The tilde ~ does work in messages so I know the key works, just not from within the game. Also ...
