Solstheim: What do I do now?

I am stuck on the Earth Stone Ritual quest (for Skaal). I go in, tap the stupid stones (with and without weapon, fists, everything) and nothing happens. no journal update, no change in the music. nothing. What do I do? :mad: :confused: :(
