It is fun, but quite easy.

However, the novelty of hide in shadows, backstab, run away and hide again loses its appeal quite quickly, but you can have a lot of fun in the towns.

It also allows for good roleplaying, as you don't fight every monster and can steal and lie your way through parts of ...

enchanter or diviner?

I want to solo a mage. Which would be the bigger challenge: enchanter or diviner?

My first thought is that the enchanter would be harder-- no evocation means no fireball, no melf's, no mordenkanein's.

What does everyone think?

computer games: harmless fun?

As a child and teenager, I was always told that computer games were bad for you, because they were immature, discouraged you from physical activity, made you socially inept and, in some cases, fostered violent and even demonic behaviour. The same arguments, particularly the latter, are becoming even ...

To choose one of these as my all time favourite would be a disservice
Here goes... (and in no particular order)
Exile 3/Blades of Exile
The SSI Gold Box games
Eye of the Beholder
Pirates!
Civilization
Wizball
BG2
Bard's Tale
Wizardry 7
Moonstone
International Test Cricket
Barbarian
Paper Boy

Hmm ...

yep, I remember 'em as well-- I finished all the gold box games. My first was Champions of Krynn on my c64. Great games!
Pirates! was cool, too.

I still remember getting killed in my first fight by about 5 hobgoblins! I didnit realise that one sleep spell could finish them all off. Now that's real ...

This may be hard to believe, but Bad Boy Bubby makes Deliverance seem like a Disney movie by comparison, oh wait, Disney can be *very* disturbing.

Let's just say that BBB is much more screwed up than any movie I have seen, including Deliverance.

Anyone else seen BBB?

@two- good questions

I think that it is a valid roleplaying option, as I agree that your character would look to maximise the usefulness of any equipment found.

The problem is that many people do not "find" these items because they prepare characters specifically to use these items, or even edit ...

@fable- hey, that's what I was going to say :p :D :D

I also think it has something to do with the way certain intangibles have become legitimate objectives for some people, eg money.

An interesting perspective that I learned from my studies of South Pacific communities is that these supposed ...
