Ok well I got the installer running but at roughly 22% it crashes with a message that says "error occurred during data move" or some such.

Try to copy in a new directory all the contents of both the cd-roms and then start the setup from ...

Unfortunately all those sound files seem to be in the data .cab files and according to what I've found online there is no known way to crack a setup .cab on a disk. Also I tried the Win 98 compatibility trick and it's still doing the same thing

Perhaps you could manually install the game by copying the files in the right directories... not sure but it could work... then you should just clic on vampire.exe with the cd-rom in the drive and it probably would let you play..[/QUOTE]

I tried ...

I don't think that would work either because the same thing has been happening to me. I click on Setup.exe in CD 1 and I see the little installshield icon come up then...nothing. It's like it doesn't initialize. And I don't know what to do, I can't install it.
