Running 1.2 patch

As soon as I get out of character customization and to the load screen my game crashes
This just started happening out of nowhere

This is what the crash report says

vampire caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)
in module client.dll at 001b:17cc160f.

Since the game was never reallly finished due the Half-Life 2 Source Theft, and rushed out once they were able to release ...

I'm only running the official 1.2 patch

I don't have the ability to set up a new character with a history
Am I missing something?

Is it really that difficult for you guys to beat her?
I use a Toreador and just have to use bloodbuff and a knife to take her out with no problems.
