Much digging required

Hi, sorry I've been gone for so long. With the advent of my Deceased Hard Drive, this will be considerably tougher. The good news is that I found a place to transfer it (the site you originally allowed it to be downloaded from). However, with my drive burnt, it's a question ...

This happened to me once...only because i went through the sound folders and listened to the mp3's of various characters. Somehow it screwed up the game

More specifically, with Windows Media Player. It does that by adding them to a 'library' of sorts of recently watched/listened to things. If you ...

I know that video :)

This is what you're looking for: "Its_a_cruel_world_on_the_other_side_of_the_mirror.wmv"

Yes. I have it. I'm an inveterate pack-rat :D

Now, we just have to find a way to move a 27MB file. I tried compressing it - it really doesn't help :) So if you can provide someplace ...

Running the list

Nobody ever mentions the bartender in the Asylum.
(You) "I'm here about the part-time hostess position."
(Him) "I wish that was my job!"
The guy cracks me up.

But he's an honorable mention at best - supporting cast and all that.

It's a bit situational. For a full-on laugh riot ...

Final Thoughts

It doesn't seem anybody has really mentioned this option yet, but it's a good one - I recall when I first got VTMB I had a borderline machine, which is why I sneak everywhere to this day - at the time, if I sneaked everywhere, the slowdowns led to fewer nasty surprises.

At any ...

I think it's so in the original game. I think it's best to have him give you the second point, that way, you don't spend nearly as much experience. Only four to be exact.

As it goes this way:

Melee 1 - 4XP (or at character creation)
Melee 2 - Nines
Melee 3 - Kendo
Melee 4 - Kendo
Melee 5 - The ...

Actually the Tremere do get a gift that the ...

I hope that you have got out of here. I can agree with Leviathan - I now hit the candles at random and the door opens.

Are you running a patch - if not it might be worth installing 5.7

I've been doing it this way for eons, and it always works.

First, you don't know how long the guy has been ...

Two cents more

Personally, I love these threads. There is never an adequate resolution to the question, but the more people that talk about it, the more ideas get thrown into the mix. I find that helps to suggest possibilities, consequences, and relationships that might otherwise never have ...

50x?

Your drive is 50X? Are you running it from a CD-ROM? For me, loading a hub normally takes less than 15 seconds, but I'm running it from a hard disk.

I guess I didn't see one possible speed increase. Running it from the hard disk. That also might explain what you're seeing.

The newer game ...

At the risk of mentioning the obvious...

More memory does not of necessity equate to greater speed.

1) If page faults are an issue, more memory can help resolve or at least ameliorate that.
2) If resource leakage is an issue, more memory can decrease mean time between failures, but does not fix ...

The benefits of seduction?

I don't typically play Toreador a lot, and one of the nice things about VTMB is it doesn't directly lock you into anything. Playing a Toreador doesn't mean that you have to concentrate on the Seduction feat.

However, I started a new Toreador, decided to go with Seduction, and made it all of 15 ...

:) Oh, and a little offtopic: What is the game called that you mentioned, Jhereg? I've been trying to find something with that control mechanism forever, simply to see how it plays out. :-)

Larry the Tough Guy *Mild spoilers*

I've recently been playing another game, where the left and right mouse buttons are mapped to weapons in the left and right hand, respectively. As a consequence, when startled in that game, the smart person reflexively goes for the right mouse button.

Well, in VTMB, we all know what the right mouse ...

we ended up with a pretty fascinating game that may never have hit the shops if all the 'tweaking' had been done, so I just accept it.

True. If there is one lesson that the company name withheld to thwart the litigious server farm parable teaches, it is this: "Perfectionitis is a lethal illness ...

Less weird explanation

I'm not sure that everybody commenting on your character being Malkavian bears any significance in and of itself. As the game says, Malks can take many forms from near-catatonia to homicidal. Perhaps they expected your character to be more like your Malk sire, who was ...
