Wow, sounds like a real predicament dontchaknow. If I were you old bean I'd pick up a little old copy of the latest release, which I believe is the DVD box containing both BGs and expansions, and have a crack at installing that on either machine. It's mighty cheap and designed to work almost ...

Personally, the first thing I do before anything else, dontchaknow, is to assemble my final party. I always pick my six before I even start the game, and make sure they're people who are close at hand (ie not people in Cloakwood or BG). Once I've assembled them, I usually go straight on with the ...

I'm usually all eager and raring to go, dontchaknow, so I usually go there before I've even opened the old city up. Makes it a tad more of a challenge, but also means that, when you come out 'n' all, you're characters are a touch on the more powerful side of what they should be at that stage of the ...

Wow, chaps, no reloading games are hard core. I'd have thought you'd pretty much just stick to plot quests only, if you were involved in such a game.

Hitting Tab

Hey chaps and chappesses, just need a little touch of the old assistance. I have just started playing a bit of the old BG2 from scratch once more, but pressing tab doesnt reveal the chests and such like it used to? Am I missing a mod, or is it a simple change that needs to be made in the ...

You have to have a pretty high strength score to have a reasonable chance to bash chests. In BGII you can get an item than confers a 25 strength which makes bashing chests a realistic pursuit. In BGI I would recommend getting a thief into your party, you will not miss out on plot items - but you ...

I dont know about that old chap because when I killed this fellow, and I've only done it the once, the dagger was there plain and dandy and all went swimmingly. What I do find a touch on the interesting side, however, is that fact that for you the ritual sometimes went ahead before your chappies ...

Yes, yes I imagine it would spoil the game a tad if you were too far on the tough side in the early stages. I have this rather nasty habit of doing way too much **** early on in the game so that my characters are way more powerful than intended at each stage of the actual main storyline, making it a ...

I've never had much of the old success when it comes to bashing chests in BG1 - I often wondered, dontchaknow, about whether one could mosey though the old game without a thief, opting for a fighter instead and bashing the hell out of every chest and door that puts it's rather solid frame in your ...

Well old chap, I'm not absolutely positive but I have a sneaking suspicion that Sarevok doesnt work the same way as all the other characters, if you get my meaning. I think it's a case of the game telling you he's killed once you've taken enough hitpoints, know what I mean, rather than a character ...

For me, the Friendly Arm Inn felt the most like home. I even went so far as to collect adventurers there. On the top floor, I dropped off Xzar & Montaron, Kivan, Branwen, Ajantis, Kagain, Garrick, Viconia, Shar Teel, Tiax, Xan, Safana, Alora, Quayle, ...everybody! I had quite the bash going in ...

That's not bad thinking, CFM and VonDondu, but personally I dont like to use inns, too public. I guess this modern homeowneer culture in which we live has instilled on me a desire for a pad of my own, gamewise.

It's quite simple--they didn't have enough time. As a matter of fact, they didn't have time to do a lot of things they wanted to do. That's just the nature of the computer game business. Well the point I was making, old chap, was that they did spend the time to change the items in that little old ...

It's OK chaps, I have discover the explaination, dont-cha-know, and I will now endeavour to impart it. It just so happens that originally that chest was due to contain a magical item of rather incredible power but the chappies who made the game had the notion that such an item might somewhat ...

I'm not really all that sure, my good fellow, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it's purely down to how far you are though the game, you know? Whether this is based on what chapter you've come to, what the time is on your game clock or the experience/levels of your party, I haven't the foggiest ...

I'm sorry to say that Knock is not good here, it's one of those particularly cheeky type chests which is warded against simple spells.

You can rob the Duchel Palace without losing any reputation or attracting any nasty attention for the undesirables if you use that rather dandy magic cloak thing ...

What I likes to do, as mentioned by Silvanerian in his rather well put post, is to find me a little house at some location of a convenient nature, one without any unpleasant folks living in it, and take it over as my sort of abode. It is imperitive that it has alot of chests/containers. I just use ...
