So, I've just finished BG with a Cavalier and the canon party and have moved onto SoA, with the intention of finishing the saga.
I'm going to run with Minsc and Jaheira, and take Yoshimo along until I get Imoen back. My next pick is Aerie to provide some arcane support and some nice cleric spells ...

I've completed BG with the official party, and done all of chapter 2 of BG 2 countless times without ever completing it, but have always done so with 6 characters. Try using any scrolls or potions you have. On my first play through I reloaded alot of times, holding onto all my potions and scrolls but you really don't need to save them. I ended up selling them late in the game because they had become obselete.

A roleplayed paladin wouldn't approve of it no, but if you have a thief in your party you could send them into houses and such whilst your pally isnt looking. ;) I used Imoen, despite her good tendancies, as it could be viewed as taking things the owners dont need, that you could put to better use ...
