Those instructions are kind of scattered in that thread, i can try to simplify it for you.

1) You need to find an old save file, from before you lost the character, here is an example of where i found mine:

C:\Documents and Settings\Sam\My Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\Saves\000006 - Bard save 2 ...
