a cloak of displacement will make the wearer appear to be either farther away or closer than he/she actually is, making it harder for monsters to hit you. When you get back to an armory you can have the cloak identified. Keep the cloak on. It is beneficial to you. Like the previous response says I ...

Hi Odium,
It has been a while since i've played PoR, but If I remember correctly, you need 1000? gold to train. If you don't have enough $, then I believe a message appears at the bottom of the screen indicating "not enough gold". With today's computers speeds, that message probably isn't much ...

Personally, I'd ditch all those elves. If you must have elves, at least make them half elves so you don't lose them permanently if they die. And make some more of your characters humans. Try to have at least 3 full figher type characters on your team. Maybe one or two knights and a ranger.

Don't get me wrong.... I love newer style rpg's, but nothing compares to the classics! My favorite is Pool of Radiance followed later by Pools of Darkness. no-one does strategy quite like S.S.I. did! and I don't think anyone ever will for that matter.

Regardless of whether Icewind Dale is a true RPG or not, it is allot of fun. Unlike the Baldur's Gate series, you get to create a whole team of your own characters instead of just one character, and you get to take them throughout the realms battling monsters as you go. So as far as I can tell, yeah ...
