I went into the sphere without a caster with the 'spell immunity' spell and no clerics with free action. I was not referring to the immunity to insect plague per se as cheating. I was referring to the fact that all of the animations and sounds that go along with insect plague were still there despite the 'immunity'. And the fact that he seemed to be taking damage from it. Thanks Saros. An incredibly quick answer. This forum is amazing. I think I do have the BG2 fixpack installed. Or maybe it was just the tweakpack. I also have baldurdash installed. I find all these different modpacks confusing. Too bad they don't all play nice with each other.

It seems that certain monsters like liches (even low level ones like the nether scroll lich) and rakshasas are immune to the 5th level mage spell lower resistance . If I try to use it I just get a message saying "spell ineffective". It doesn't mention these exceptions in the spell description ...
