Ideally the perfect int test would be the same for each person, but each person would have to have the exact same education program. It is impossible, and will be impossible for at least a few centuries.. when there are no borders, no censored elements, perfect equality and chances for everyone ...

When I ran into Shank I did what I would do and ran to the guards. They just watched as the guy tried to stab me! Jerks.

You would be surprised. I'm not saying that Imoen is smart, i'm saying, that people who have no knowledge, experience or character can still have extreme IQ values.

Myself i wouldn't ever connect IQ with D&D Int. Int in D&D is what a character knows, not picking the right circle and square ...

So how did you gauge your strength and wisdom? Int is actually the easiest I think, simply divide your IQ by ten (round up or down).

Oh that makes more sense than the way I was doing it. However this would mean only 2.5% of people would have an intelligence score over 13 (since two standard ...

If I was in Faerun I'd definitely try to learn magic (Abjuration), and I think I have the intelligence to do so. I've been in fights before and I can hold my own but I don't like it. I always wanted to try archery and I think it would be a good fit. So human archer/mage would be the ideal class for ...

Interesting concept, although the average ability would be 10.5, not 9.

I like to kid myself that I could squeeze in as a Ranger. :D

PS Oh, and if my character was to react how I would, then he would probably flee in terror from a Kobold, let alone a Gnoll!!!

I considered Ranger since ...

Modesty is reserved for average folk. :p

Edit : Oh, and i always apply 3. and 4. in my playthrough's

Yeah, I think a lot of people do 3. That's why I added 2. We all know a gnoll would be easy to kill... but if I saw one for the first time in RL I'd probably run away! Also there would be no ...

You in Faerun

Reading through this forums I can across a lot of threads where people put self-imposed restrictions on themselves for an extra challenge. That gave me the idea... how about playing through the series as yourself? More specifically:

1. Set your attributes/specializations/class to reflect you as a ...

It depends on your amount of XP. The NPCs have 5 different starting 'creatures' at XPs of 161k, 400k, 800k, 1.2M and 2.5M.

Thanks! That makes a lot more sense and will definitely be useful.

I tested a fighter 7/mage 7 dual class and fighter 7/mage 8 with Anomen. In both cases he was at his lowest level version. So it must be one or the other, I assume the higher/active one.
A good test (using Anomen) would be figher>9 /mage<9 to see if it uses the inactive class.

Tricky wrote:Character level isn't the same as class level, it's the total amount of levels you have. The npc levels are only determined by your character level.
So level 7 fighter -> level 1 mage = level 8 fighter in character level? That's kind of silly.

I can confirm that this must be a bug.

Interesting, I should probably tell the Tutu people. But I wonder... if the protagonist as a thief, got behind Sarevok and showed himself to initiate dialog, then used a potion of invisibility as Sarevok goes after him, would it achieve the same effect? Or ...

Surprisingly Easy Final Battle *Spoiler*

I don't know if anyone cares, but I thought I'd share anyways.

I beat Sarevok and his friends last night in one attempt without using any wands, cloudkill, charm, summoning or cheese. Nobody in my party even died. Here's how:

I sneaked Coran and went up to backstab Sarevok, but it just ...

NPC level determination.

I know NPCs have a few different starting levels and they are determined by protagonist level. However if the protagonist is dual/multi class how does it work? I'm asking since I'm planning on having a dual class character and I want him to solo as long as possible, but I also want to pick up some ...

Amelia quest BG1NPC project *Spoilers*

1. Anyone know what is the most advantages outcome of Coran's quest with Amelia is? Xp and reward wise.
2. Is there something that can be done with the powder and manual afterwards?
3. How do you kill her? I have drizzt's +5 sword and I keep getting "weapon ineffective". Is she immune to slashing ...

I want Kagain

When I first met Kagain I decided not to take him along. But after reading about his bonus to saving throws and regeneration I changed my mind. So I tried to create him using CLUAConsole:CreateCreature() but it didn't work (kagain file not found)!
I tried: Kagain, kagain, KAGAIN, kagain2, kagain4 ...
