But why a lightsaber "crystal"? You can use lots of stuff instead of crystals such as physical remains, shards of glass, and even special micro machinery.

Have you tried using Force powers?

The best powers I can think of are: Speed, Lightning, Kill, Valor

Can robes be upgraded with overlays? YES, but there's only 1 overlay that can do this. It's the Armorply Plating Mark II ! It works on any upgradeable robes. (for me at least) ;)

Yes, it can! You can unequip your armor, then you can cast any force power that is restricted by armor, then put your armor back on, and you will find that the force power isn't negated. If you want to use the force power again, repeat the process.
